Genetically Engineered Mouse Core Facility (GEMC)

The "Transgenic and Chimeric Mouse Facility" at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, is now known as the Genetically Engineered Mouse Core Facility (GEMC). This updated designation reflects the core’s expanded range of services, including advanced genome editing, cryopreservation, and pathogen-free re-derivation. For over 30 years, the core has provided genetically engineered mouse model services to the Penn community and beyond. In collaboration with the CRISPR/Cas9 Mouse Targeting Core, the GEMC utilizes cutting-edge technologies to efficiently and cost-effectively generate knock-out, knock-in, and other complex genetic modifications in mice. Please contact Kathleen Moosbrugger or Douglas Epstein  with inquiries.
